Textile
Textile is literally "all that is woven". The word is derived from the Latin word "texere" which means to weave. The textile products as woven in a factory in the past are called manufactures. In modern parlance, textile is used much more broadly: textile is a material that consists of filaments (endless threads) or fibers (short pieces of thread). This means that non-wovens (filament fleece and fiber fleece) are also included. Textiles are practically always deformable and can be one-, two- or three-dimensional.
